Home Inspections - Buyers, Sellers
& Realtors
In both new and older homes, the best way to ensure that you
are well informed about the strengths and weaknesses of a
property is to have us give you a professional home inspection.
We are trained to identify problem areas both small and large
that may have been overlooked by the previous owners and to
identify which require immediate attention.
Thermal Imaging
 Thermal
imaging uses infrared technology to detect very small differences
in temperature. Every material has a unique thermal signature
and when moisture, heat, cold, or wood destroying insects
are introduced into the structure the thermal signature changes.
The changes can be subtle or dramatic but with this incredible
thermal image scanning technology the thermal signatures are
detectable where they wouldn't be able to be seen with the
naked eye.
Thermal image scanning technology is now being used to evaluate
residential and commercial structures. As a non-invasive testing
tool it can quickly help discern where there are suspected
issues. This can help to limit the areas where time consuming
further evaluation and destructive discovery is needed.
Radon Testing
Radon is a radioactive gas that has been found in homes all
over the United States. It comes from the natural breakdown
of uranium in soil, rock and water and gets into the air you
breathe.
Radon typically moves up through the ground to the air above
and into your home through cracks and other holes in the foundation.
Radon can also enter your home through well water. Your home
can trap radon inside. Nearly 1 out of every 15 homes in the
United States is estimated to have an elevated radon level
Mold Inspection
The presence of mold in a home can be very dangerous. It can
lead to respiratory problems and other health issues, in addition
to compromising the integrity of the home's walls and foundation.
An accurate analysis can help prevent serious problems and
significant expenses later on.
Air-Quality Testing
Indoor air pollution, building-related illness, and "sick
building syndrome" have received increased attention
over the last several years. Research, conducted by various
agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA),
has shown that the quality of indoor air can be many times
worse than that of the outdoor air.
Structural Inspection
 A
professional structural inspector can help buyers to "know"
the house and to feel comfortable with it, but the inspection
does not result in a pass or fail grade. The buyers will learn
important things about the house, such as where the water
shut off valve is located, in case of an emergency. The inspection
may also help buyers set up a budget for repairs and determine
if they want to invest in cost-effective measures to increase
energy efficiency.
