These facts matter very much to us and should matter to
you and your family. Isn't it nice to have an inspector who
is licensed and experienced in mold testing, mold
remediation, radon testing, radon mitigation, pest
inspection, lead assessment, asbestos assessment, and water
testing?
Mold Inspection and Mold Testing
An Elevated condition of mold in your home can be very
dangerous to your health. Certain mold spores are known
carcinogens and others can lead to respiratory disease,
allergic reactions, and other health issues, in addition to
compromising the integrity your home's building construction
and structure. A Mold Inspection and
Mold Testing can help prevent serious problems and
significant expenses.
We specialize in determining the CAUSE, CONDITION, and
SEVERITY of your home's mold problem.
First, an
ASHI Certified Home Inspector will
inspect the outside and inside of your house to determite
the CAUSE of the mold problem. That's the first and most
important question you want answered, "What is causing
my mold problem?"
Second, a BPI Certified Thermographer will
determine specifically where moisture is coming from as the
result of condensation, flooding, leaks, water inflitration,
etc. while using Thermal Imaging Cameras, Moisture Meters,
and other diagnostic tools during the inspection. This tells
us the CONDITION to which mold grows.
Third, an IAC2 Certified Mold Inspector
will take Air Quality Samples to determine what type of mold
spores you have in the air and how many mold spores or how
SEVERE the problem. Each sample covers approx. 600 sq. ft.
and we recommend a minimum of one test per level of your
house.
Mold Remediation and Mold Removal
Based on the conclusion of the Mold Inspection and Mold
Testing, we then would be able to give you several options on
how to correct the problem and accurately estimate the cost of
repairs. The results will also tell us if you DO or DO NOT have
a mold problem. If you DO NOT then that's great! If you DO, it's
good to know how severe or how marginal.
Option #1, we give you recommendations on how to remove the
mold yourself.
Option #2, a simple
GT-3000 or
REME Induct Air Purification System may
be enough to take care of the problem. Both are available for
lease or purchase.
Option #3, we can remediate the mold for you. GUARANTEED.
Radon Testing
Radon is the 2nd leading cause of Lung Cancer in the U.S.
Radon is a Class A Carcinogen.
Radon is Tasteless, Colorless, and Odorless.
Radon causes more deaths per year than Carbon Monoxide,
House Fires, Drownings, and Drunk Driving combined.
Our region is a level 3 out of 4 concentration.
Radon gas is the by-produt of decayed Uranium and is found
in soil which means any house is at risk.
The EPA suggests that all houses be tested for Radon.
The only way to know if you or your family is exposed to
this silent killer is through Radon Testing.
We use Contiuous Radon Monitors which is the most
accurate way to test for Radon. We set up our equipment in
your house for 48 hrs. Our equipment takes a measurement of
Radon every hour on the hour. We will return 48 hrs later to
retrieve our Radon equipment and process your detailed
report, telling us the average level of Radon over the 48 hr
span of time.
Our equimpent has anti-tampering systems which let us
know if the test is valid or if there is foul play. To
ensure an accurate test, our equipment is calibrated
annually and we perform quartly cross-checks.
Radon Mitigation and Radon Removal
The EPA's suggested action level is 4.0 pCi/l of Radon. If
your home averaged at 4.0 or above, Radon Mitigation is a great
way to reduce your average level.
A Radon Mitigation system is fairly simple
and extremely effective. The general costs for Radon Mitigation
is between $1000 and $2000 dollars. * Radon Mitigation will be
available Summer 2012.
Pest Inspection and Termite Inspection
Termites and other Wood Desroying Insects are responsible
for Billions of Dollars of damage every year. Unfortunately,
they are highly concenrated in our region, any house could
be affected. We inspect for Past and Present signs of
Termite,
Carpenter Ant, Powder Post Beetle,
Carpenter Bee, and other Wood
Destorying Insect damage. Be sure to add a
Pest Inspection with your Home Inspection.
80% of all banks and mortgage companies require a Pest
Inspection in real estate transactions. Be sure to ask your
real estate agent if one is required.
Lead Testing and Lead Assessment
If your home was built prior to 1978, according to the EPA,
it's assumed to have Lead Based Paint unless concluded
otherwise. On September 2nd, 1977, the U.S. Consumer Product
Safety Commission (CPSC) banned the production and use of
lead-containing paint for toys and furniture coated with such
paint in the attempt to reduce the risk of lead poisoning in
children who may ingest paint chips or peelings and for adults
who may be exposed to lead particles.
We offer professional Lead Testing and
Lead Assessment services for your home or business.
Purchasing a home built prior to 1978 is very common and should
not deter you from buying the home you want. However,
understanding how Lead Based Paint (LBP) can effect you and
taking the proper measures can go a long way. Trust us to
explain the process and to assess your homes LBP content through
testing.
Asbestos Testing and Asbestos Assessment
Like LBP, many Asbestos materials were banned pre-1978
for use in residential homes. Purchasing a home built prior
to 1978 is very common and should not deter you from buying
the home you want. However, understanding how Asbestos
Materials can effect you and taking the proper measures can
go a long way.
Ironically, Asbestos materials were
very popular and had a number of uses including:
Roof Shingles and Asphalt Paper
Exterior SidingAttic and Wall Insulation
Plumbing and HVAC InsulationPaint and Patching
Compounds
CaulkingFlooring, etc.
Our inspectors are able to identify possible Asbestos
Materials in your home. Combine that with
Asbestos Testing or an
Asbestos Assessment, we would be able
to determine, conclusivly, if Asbestos materials were
used in your home.
